Paul Evans born in England in 1973 exhibited an aptitude and flair for music at a young age. He started to play the trumpet when he was seven and at eleven attended a scholarship at the Kent Conservatoire. In 1991 he was asked by The British Council for Prevention of Blindness to perform Handel`s Messiah, "The trumpet shall sound",  in the Royal Albert Hall, with conductor Brian Wright.
Throughout his teens he was fortunate to study with some of the top trumpet teachers including Ray Simmons and Ray Allen and with his talent recognized as a classical performer, he received a further two scholarships to The Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Academy London.

It was after attending several jazz master classes that Paul’s passion was directed towards performing jazz. Within sixth months he was a finalist in Young Jazz player of the year and he has continued to play internationally in over four continents and thirty countries.
It wasn’t until Paul’s move to Spain in 2000 that he truly immersed himself in the world of Jazz, playing with big band legends, Eric Delaney, Denis Lotus and Mike Smith.
By 2003 Paul was integrated into the Spanish jazz scene, performing with musicians including Joan Soler, Perico Sambeat, Ximo Tébar, Ramón Cardo, Latino Blanco (Sedajazz),  Mark Nightingale, Mike Phillip Mossman, Greg Hopkins, Alex Blake, Jesus Santandreu, David Pastor, Soledad Gimenez and Celia Mur.

Paul is widely recognized for his lyrical playing and solid sound. With his roots set in classical music, his versatility and technique has allowed him to display a original style, whether performing in jazz quartets or session work.
